Volleyball News by Rox Volleyball – October 17-23, 2016

Hey guys Jessica Hall here with Rox Volleyball and your biggest volleyball news from this past weekend. we’ll start with an upset from the Big 10 conference. As University of Michigan Wolverines put down the number 9, Penn State Nittany Lions. The Nittany Lions are the only undefeated team remaining left and Big 10 Conference play before the Wolverines took them down at home. The Wolverines were led offensively by Carly Skjodt with 27 kills and defensly led by Tiffany Clark and Jenna Lerg with 20 bits a piece across the other side of the Big 10, a possible final four preview took place as number 1, Nebraska, faced off against number 3, Minnesota, and number 4, Wisconsin, at home.

The Huskers took care of the Badgers Friday in three sets. While on Sunday the Gophers took them to a five-set battle. Nebraska’s libero Justine Wong-Orantes set a new school record with 3-5 digs.
